Q: I have a home heating oil tank in my yard, do I need to remove it?
A: No, BUT when you sell or refinance your home, most lending institutions will require you to remove the tank before the loan is approved. Also, if the tank leaks, the plants around the tank may die and the oil could get into the drain tile around the house and end up in your sump pump.
Q: Can I just fill the tank with sand?
A: No. The inside of the tank needs to be cleaned to remove any oil that remains. If sand is put into the tank without cleaning the inside of the tank first, the sand that you put in will be contaminated with the oil from the tank, creating a bigger environmental problem.
Q: How long will it take to remove my home heating oil tank?
A: It should take one day at your home to remove, cut, clean, dispose of tank and backfill excavation to grade.
Q: Can you give me a price over the phone?
A: Yes we can, but we like to visit the jobsite so we can provide you with a more accurate estimate.
